Post-Operative MLD Policies & Procedures

Sol Serene: The Lunar Lab was established with an unwavering commitment to client safety, holistic health, and optimal aesthetic outcomes. The following clinical policies operate as strict, non-negotiable protocols. They are designed to protect your surgical investment, ensure the integrity of our therapeutic environment, and safely guide you through your post-operative journey.

Medical Transparency & Client Accountability

Complete transparency is vital to your post-operative recovery. While a physical medical clearance note is not strictly required for standard early-stage lymphatic drainage, you are required to fully and honestly disclose your complete surgical history, active medications, and any complications on your digital intake form.

By securing your appointment, you formally acknowledge that withholding or omitting critical medical information may negatively impact your healing results or cause adverse reactions. Sol Serene and its practitioners assume no liability for complications arising from undisclosed medical conditions or surgical alterations.

Right to Refuse or Terminate Service

Sol Serene operates under strict clinical and safety boundaries. We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or terminate a session at any time at the practitioner's discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, presentations of active infection, unhealed incisions outside of standard recovery parameters, undisclosed contraindications, or any behavior that compromises the safety and integrity of the therapeutic environment. If a session is terminated due to undisclosed contraindications, the full session fee will still apply.

Clinical Progression Photography

To accurately monitor your healing timeline, track edema reduction, and map tissue changes, Sol Serene requires clinical before-and-after photographs for all Lunar Lab post-operative sessions. These images are securely stored in your private client file to ensure our protocols are actively protecting your aesthetic results.

Please note: Your privacy is paramount. Images will never be shared or utilized for educational or marketing purposes without your separate, explicit written consent, and all identifying markers (faces, tattoos) will be strictly anonymized.

Mandatory Initial Consultations

To ensure uncompromising safety and individualized care, all new Lunar Lab clients must complete a mandatory virtual consultation prior to receiving hands-on treatment. This allows us to visually assess your tissue, review your surgeon's protocols, and correctly match you with the appropriate Moon Cycle package.

  • Pre-Op Planning Consultation: For clients proactively establishing their baseline and securing their recovery calendar prior to surgery.

  • Urgent Post-Op Triage Consultation: For clients who are actively post-surgery, unmapped, and require immediate assessment and clinical intervention.

Hands-on sessions will not be approved or confirmed until this clinical assessment is complete.

Cancellations, Rescheduling & Late Arrivals

Your scheduled appointment is reserved exclusively for you. We require a strictly enforced minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made inside this 24-hour window, or complete no-shows, will result in a charge equal to 100% of the scheduled service fee (or the automatic forfeiture of one package session).

Late Arrivals: To ensure every client receives our highest standard of clinical care, your session will end at its scheduled time, regardless of when you arrive. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be considered a no-show, the session will be canceled, and the full fee will apply.

Care Plan Commitment & Financial Structure

The Lunar Lab operates on structured, comprehensive care plans. All Moon Cycle packages must be paid in full prior to the start of your first session and are strictly non-refundable. To support your investment in your healing, flexible financing options (such as Cherry, Klarna, or Afterpay) may be available at checkout.

Please note: Due to our limited clinical calendar and upcoming winter transition, all packages carry a strict 12-week expiration date. Any sessions remaining after 12 weeks will be forfeited without a refund.

Timeline Adherence & Treatment Outcomes

Post-operative recovery is highly time-sensitive. Our Moon Cycle packages are meticulously designed to be completed within a strict 3-to-7-week window following your surgery to ensure optimal fluid management and prevent fibrosis.

Consistent attendance is mandatory for your aesthetic results. Delaying treatments, excessive cancellations, or failing to complete the cycle directly alters your physical outcome. Sol Serene assumes zero liability for aesthetic compromises resulting from a client's failure to adhere to their mapped treatment timeline.

Non-Invasive Protocol Boundary

Sol Serene provides advanced Manual Lymphatic Drainage. We operate strictly within our licensing scope. Under no circumstances do we remove surgical drains, manipulate active incisions, extrude fluid through incision sites, or perform any invasive wound care.

Medical Complications & Compliance

Your safety is our absolute priority. If your practitioner identifies the presence of a suspected seroma or any other severe medical complication, hands-on treatment will be immediately suspended. You will be required to return to your operating surgeon or a qualified medical professional for assessment and treatment.

Manual therapy will only resume once we receive explicit medical clearance. Refusal to seek medical assessment for a complication is a direct violation of our clinical safety protocols and will result in the permanent termination of your care plan without a refund.

Active Illness & Contraindications

Manual Lymphatic Drainage forcefully stimulates the immune system and heavily circulates fluid. If you are experiencing symptoms of a cold, flu, fever, stomach virus, or any contagious illness, receiving bodywork will exacerbate your symptoms and put our clinic at risk. You must be symptom-free for at least 48 hours prior to your session. Arriving to an appointment visibly ill will result in immediate termination of the session and a full cancellation fee.
