The Sol Philosophy

Where mysticism meets clarity.

At Sol Serene, we believe an immersive, transformative experience is most powerful when it is rooted in awareness. Mysticism invites us to feel, explore, and connect with something deeper; clarity ensures that journey is informed, intentional, and grounded in trust.

We honor the curiosity and intelligence of every client by communicating with transparency, educating with care, and creating space for meaningful personal discovery. Nothing is obscured for the sake of mystery—rather, the unknown is approached with reverence, context, and choice.

Sol Serene is a place where intuition and understanding coexist: where ritual is intentional, experience is immersive, and every client remains empowered in their own journey.

Why our appointment lengths matter

Care should never be rushed. At Sol Serene, appointment lengths are designed to make room for a thoughtful, responsive experience—one that honors your body, your goals, and the care you need that day.

Therapeutic Massage

Sol Serene approaches therapeutic massage with intention rather than urgency. Grounded in a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, each session is curated around what your body needs on that particular day.

Through palpatory assessment, knowledge of muscle groups, movement patterns, and interconnected muscular chains, your massage is adapted in real time. This clinical awareness is balanced with intuitive listening—responding to the cues your body communicates so you can receive restorative, personalized care.

Wellness Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, individualized service that benefits from time, attentiveness, and a whole-body perspective. Appointment length allows space to discuss your intentions, assess the areas you would like supported, and provide care at a pace that feels calming rather than hurried.

Whether you choose 60, or 90 minutes, your session can be tailored around your comfort, desired areas of focus, and the restorative experience you are seeking that day.

Post-Operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Post-operative recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Sol Serene offers 60-, 90-, and 120-minute Manual Lymphatic Drainage appointments so each session can be paced appropriately around your surgical history, current stage of recovery, treatment areas, comfort level, and aftercare needs.

Longer appointments allow for intentional care without compressing your experience into an inadequate time block. Your session is guided by your individual needs and always remains within your provider’s professional scope and your surgeon’s aftercare guidance.

Your voice matters

Every session—whether therapeutic massage, wellness-focused manual lymphatic drainage, or post-operative MLD—is tailored to your needs and adjusted to your comfort level.

You are always welcome to speak up, ask questions, or change your mind. At any point during your session, you have the right to:

Request changes to pressure, positioning, techniques, or pacing.

Decline or withdraw consent for any treatment area.

Pause or end the session at any time, for any reason.

Your comfort, autonomy, and sense of safety guide the experience.

Scope of Practice

As a Maryland-licensed massage therapist, certified manual lymphatic drainage practitioner, and certified plastic-surgery therapist, I practice exclusively within my professional scope.

Massage therapy is not medical treatment. I do not diagnose, treat, or cure health conditions, and my services do not replace the care or guidance of a physician, surgeon, or other qualified medical professional.

For post-operative clients, this means:

I do not remove or manage surgical drains.

I do not open, reopen, or manipulate incisions, or provide wound care.

I do not treat seromas or other post-surgical complications.

I do not advise clients to disregard, alter, or substitute their surgeon’s aftercare instructions.

When a concern falls outside my scope, I will refer you back to your surgeon or appropriate medical provider.

My role is to provide informed, supportive bodywork within my training, licensure, and professional boundaries—always honoring your safety, your autonomy, and your medical team.

Know Who Is Supporting Your Ritual

Your care deserves both trust and transparency. Before booking, ask any provider about their active Maryland license, post-operative manual lymphatic drainage education, experience with your specific procedure, qualifications to provide care, and intake process.

Maryland massage credentials can be verified through the State Board’s public license-verification portal.

Your Right to Informed Care

You have the right to understand who is supporting your wellbeing and where you are receiving care. Any practice you choose should be forthcoming with the information that directly affects your sessions, including credentials, training, scope of practice, policies, and relevant experience.

At Sol Serene, clarity is part of care. We welcome thoughtful questions and believe an informed client is an empowered client.
